Simply put, there is almost no better or more cost-effective way to grow your business than to network. Networking can allow you to meet potential vendors and prospects, but more importantly, you can meet potential referral sources. While networking has many benefits, it is important to do it correctly. If you are just going out for the drinks and appetizers, you are not networking, you are socializing. If you choose the wrong events, you may end up getting referred to the kind of clients you do not want or cannot serve. It is advisable to learn about networking (there are tons of books on the subject) and then to go- not just once but consistently over time.
